It has been proven that free-radicals are involved in every disease and illness out there but it has also been proven that chronic inflammation is also involved in the vast majority of diseases and illness. Scientists are calling chronic inflammation the silent killer. When there is any type of injury, trauma or disease, no matter what the action is, there is a reaction from our body to protect and heal itself - inflammation. We need inflammation in order to heal, its basic function is to make the tiny vessels in our tissue become larger so the white blood cells, that normally don't fit, can now squeeze into these small spaces and begin the healing process. With IBS the inflammation response becomes angry, and instead of helping the body, it turns on itself creating chronic inflammation. I go to the restroom twice a day and my stool is very soft so I went to the doctor and diagnosed me with IBS (irritable bowel sindrome) the doctor gave me some medicine to treat the problem not to cure it. So my question is,how can I cure the problem?
  • susan n replied on Wed, 29 Dec, 2010
You can't. There are substances which may help and which you should research thoroughly on your own. A couple are coconut oil and L-glutamine.
  • Doctor J replied on Wed, 29 Dec, 2010
The cure would need to address the cause. You need to understand that "IBS" is not a diagnosis - it is a label given to patients when the doctor cannot determine the CAUSE of chronic bowel symptoms. Just because the doctor you saw couldn't determine the cause of your symptoms, doesn't mean there isn't a diagnosable cause. Here is a list of COMMON conditions that get labeled as IBS. Be sure your doctor (or another doctor) has tested you for all of them: 1) Celiac Disease 2) Other food allergies and/or food sensitivities 3) Intestinal Dysbiosis 4) Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) 5) Pancreatic insufficiency 6) Hypochlorhydria (too little stomach acid) 7) Heavy metal toxicities (lead, mercury, cadmium, etc.) 8) Chemical and other environmental sensitivities. You may need to find specialists in each of the following fields to make the right diagnosis for you!: 1) Celiac Disease, 2) Food allergies and food Intolerances, 3) Functional Medicine, 4) Environmental medicine. A few medical doctors have these types of expertise. Naturopathic Physicians and some Chiropractors also have the appropriate training. Best wishes and good luck.
